US-2, Pine St to Cedar St

 Precision provided traffic signal and ITS design services for this project in Sandpoint, Idaho. The project included a new traffic signal design at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Church Street to improve intersection operations and safety. In addition, Precision updated the existing traffic signal at Fifth Avenue and Cedar Street to accommodate two-way traffic operations and incorporated pedestrian improvements, including the addition of Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS), to enhance accessibility and multimodal safety. Also included the design of fiber-optic interconnect along the Fifth Avenue corridor from Boyer Avenue to Larch Street to support signal coordination and reliable communications between intersections. Precision further evaluated and updated traffic signal cabinets and controller equipment at the Larch Street, Cedar Street, and Boyer Avenue intersections to ensure consistency with current ITD standards and to improve system reliability and long-term maintainability.
